Research has shown that disabled children are more likely to be abused or neglected.

HM Government last published guidance on Safeguarding Disabled Children back in 2009

It is clear that all professionals working with children and especially those working with disabled children need to have an awareness / understanding of the risks posed to disabled children. Professionals need to know how to communicate with disabled children and what they can do to better protect them.
